Photo booth Fun For Gippsland and Beyond

Meet Christine Brooks who is helping make lasting memories for her clients in Gippsland and beyond with her new photo booth business.

With a smile that lights up a room and a glass half-full attitude this community minded businesswoman is making her mark since moving to West Gippsland a year ago. The first day I met Christine, I felt like I’d bumped into an old friend.

Christine Brooks is helping make lasting memories for her clients Gippsland and beyond with her new photo booth business. Christine has a smile that lights up a room and a glass half-full attitude. The first day I met Christine, I felt like I’d bumped into an old friend.

Calling Gippsland home for the past year, after relocating from the City of Casey, Christine came with her husband seeking space, fresh air and a community to raise their children. “There is a friendly face around every corner here,” says Christine. “Everyone still says hello and no-one is too busy to smile.”

Since moving to West Gippsland she has launched a new business Pics & Props Photo Booth. Taking the concept from an idea had one afternoon at a children’s birthday party to launch. This has taken up much of the past year. The business has grown quickly and with her Dad as her business mentor and chief volunteer, it doesn’t feel much like work at all.

Prior to her career change of becoming a full-time Mum to two small children (a girl & a boy), Christine was an Event Manager for large charitable and corporate events, including working with the Wiggles. Taking these skills, she has created a strong business model and has seen her bookings grow as she becomes more known.

Family and community are high priorities for Christine. “Right now I’m working on growing my involvement in local events and activities because I want to entrench myself in this wonderful place I’m calling home.”

Watching people come together for a simple photo, Christine is content that as well as creating an income, she’s making a difference in helping others connect. Whether at a corporate event, helping staff relax and have fun or at a birthday where a blended family comes together for a photo. The power of capturing a photo booth moment in time has a lasting effect on those involved.

“I feel blessed that I am afforded the opportunity to do what I love in both my professional life and personal life. I believe in good and I look for it in the people I meet and the places I go, even on the sleep deprived days; which are more frequent with two little cherubs.” Explains Christine.

Life doesn’t get much better than a night at home with family to watch the footy. “If I’m not at an event, being curled up on the couch next to hubby with Gippy Fish & Chips to watch the footy is where it’s at.” Says Christine. “AFL is our code of choice. Despite being in a divided household between Collingwood and Hawthorn, we just love the game and so it doesn’t really matter who is playing.”

Christine says that life is too short for regrets, although she wishes she had learned to make her Nonna’s lasagne. “If I could spend an hour with anyone it would be Nonna. Her stories were captivating, and I always wanted to learn how to make her lasagne but sadly never did before she passed away.”

Busy with bookings from Melbourne to East Gippsland, Christine is sure to make her mark on our region and be an ambassador for Gippsland when taking her business into the city for events.
